CYCLING FOR A
Pennsylvania Interfaith Power & Light 2021 Bike Trip for Climate Justice
ABOUT THE RIDE
This Year in Pennsylvania! The annual PA IPL Climate Advocacy Bike Ride to the US Capitol has been re-imagined as a bike tour of Pennsylvania. The various bike routes will bear witness to our extractive past and present while nurturing and rooting hope for a cleaner future to grow across our state.
This year’s ride will take place directly following the national Interfaith Power & Light’s annual conference. Our hope is to recruit 100 cyclists to participate in this year’s ride.
SATURDAY, MAY 8th - Opening Ceremonies and Kickoff Event
On the evening of Saturday, May 8th, PA IPL members, cyclists, and their supporters will gather to meet each other and open the 3-week ride with prayer, song, and a blessing for the cyclists and the planet Earth.
SUNDAY, MAY 9th - MAY 30th
RIDE ONE HUNDRED MILES on a prescribed route or one of your own.
SATURDAY & SUNDAY, MAY 22nd & 23rd
Advocacy Weekend of Action
SUNDAY, MAY 30th - Closing Ceremonies
Celebrate the riders and their accomplishments! On Sunday evening, May 30th, we will gather again to share a video montage of the rider’s reflections, thank the riders for their efforts as well as thank supporters, our corporate sponsors, and share how we did with our fundraising goals.
Create an opportunity for cyclists to connect their supporters and the broader PA IPL community statewide by sharing their journeys - the diversity of landscape and life - across Pennsylvania reminding them of what we work so hard to protect
